Our Growing Community of Ambassadors

Swire Properties strives to create positive community impacts, and our people are a vital link in connecting with our communities. We encourage our employees to actively “give back” to society in the spirit of philanthropy and volunteerism.
The Swire Properties Community Ambassador (“CA”) programme unites our families and friends, Swire retirees, our business partners, office workers at our managed portfolios, our customers, and the service users of our charity partners in this spirit of giving. Together, we create sustainable value through innovative programmes that enrich the lives of people and entire communities.
The ever-growing CA network operates through our Hong Kong, Chinese Mainland and Miami developments. Its programmes, initiatives and events focus on creating positive impacts through placemaking, youth development, social inclusion, community-building, and sustainable development.
We also provide tangible benefits to our Community Ambassadors. For every tem hours of voluntary service completed, our employees are eligible to receive one extra day of leave, capped at two days per year.

2025 Community Ambassador Events in Hong Kong
Our Community Ambassador network organised events across our properties in 2025.
BOOKS FOR LOVE @$10
BOOKS FOR LOVE @$10
BOOKS FOR LOVE @$10, one of our most popular and enduring community outreach events, returned for its 13th year in 2025, bringing thousands of people together to celebrate reading and wellbeing.
Held over two weekends in May at ArtisTree and Berkshire House in Taikoo Place, the event achieved record-breaking sales numbers – 300,000+ pre-loved books were sold, with 9,000 children’s books sold online. The event raised over HKD1.37 million and mobilised more than 7,000 volunteers, including 70 young shopkeepers who were specially trained to assist at the event.
The festival featured wellness-themed activities and family-friendly experiences like the “Magic of Reading” character parade, where 150 children dressed as beloved book characters, the “Phone Off Read On” challenge and a “Blissful Station” for sharing positive messages. Twenty interactive “Storytelling Showtime” sessions engaged 600 children in both Chinese and English, and a Mother’s Day card workshop added a personal touch.
The event engaged a total of 44 partners, including 20 Swire Properties office and retail tenants.
In June, a companion event was held at Taikoo Hui Guangzhou – “BOOKS FOR LOVE: Empowering Women in Rural Areas”. In partnership with the Guangdong Rural Women Development Foundation, our Community Ambassadors collected donated books from surrounding office and residential communities, and then sent them to libraries in underprivileged rural areas. In return, the donors received delicate handicrafts made by women from these rural areas, with our CA programme paying a fee for each item to support their livelihoods. A video and static display at the event shared inspiring stories of these women who are fighting for a better quality of life.
The seven-day event collected almost 2,700 books worth over RMB84,000. These were delivered to rural libraries in Shixing, Guangdong Province; Zhuji, Hubei Province; and Penghua in Sichuan Province. 48 CAs volunteered and 255 handicrafts were given away.
LITTLE FASHION FOR LOVE 2025
LITTLE FASHION FOR LOVE 2025
LITTLE FASHION FOR LOVE, a community-driven charity sale and fun day held at Quarryside, returned for its second year in January 2025. The initiative champions sustainable fashion, environmental education, and women’s empowerment through the reuse of quality children’s clothing.
Building on the success of the inaugural event, this year saw a significant rise in community engagement. Over 12,000 pieces of pre-loved childrenswear were collected, more than double of last year’s total. The three-day charity sale welcomed over 7,000 visitors, mobilised 600 volunteers and raised more than HKD90,000 from the sale of over 6,000 high-quality items. All proceeds were donated to a social enterprise under St. James' Settlement to support children’s environmental education and create sustainable employment opportunities for women.
The event also featured a vibrant line-up of free family activities, including eco-craft workshops, music performances, interactive clown shows, and a children’s upcycled fashion parade. Adding to the excitement, celebrity volunteers joined as “celebrity shop managers” mentoring “little shopkeepers” in retail operations and customer service.
Our significant contributions to this event earned us the highest-level SE Support Excellence Award at the Social Enterprise Supporter Awards 2025.
My Construction Hero
My Construction Hero
My Construction Hero, another signature Community Ambassador initiative, returned in 2025. Co-organised with our Projects team over the past five years, the programme has introduced more than 300 Little Ambassadors to the world of construction and placemaking through immersive, hands-on experiences that spark their interest in engineering and placemaking.
Over the years, participants have witnessed the transformation of Taikoo Place firsthand – from experiencing live construction at Two Taikoo Place to touring the completed redevelopment, including Taikoo Square and Taikoo Garden. This year’s highlight was a visit to Hong Kong’s highest urban rooftop farm at One Island East, giving them insights into sustainability and letting them see urban biodiversity in action.
The Little Giving Bag
The Little Giving Bag
Swire Properties’ annual Christmas charity programme, formerly known as “BOXFUL OF LOVE”, invited our Community Ambassadors to create Christmas gift boxes filled with books, toys, stationery, and other festive treats for children in need.
Now in its fourth year, the initiative has been reimagined as “The Little Giving Bag”, replacing the traditional shoebox with a thoughtfully curated “bag of kindness”. The programme continues to operate in the same spirit, partnering with an office tenant and a retail store at Cityplaza. Through our long-term NGO programme partners, more than 300 gift bags were delivered to local children before Christmas, spreading warmth and joy throughout the community.

Walk for Love 2025
Walk for Love 2025
Our annual “Walk for Love” charity project, where Community Ambassadors walk to raise funds for youth in rural areas who need a helping hand, was bigger than ever this year. Over 1,250 CAs from across the Chinese Mainland walked an astonishing 487,870,000 steps, or 301,921 km, both at a physical event and remotely via a dedicated online pedometer app. Together, they raised funds to purchase 500 cotton-filled vests, which were donated to three primary schools in Qinghai Prefecture to help children from low-income families.
For this year’s walk, colleagues from Qiantan Place and Lujiazui Taikoo Yuan joined for the first time, with CAs from Beijing, Guangzhou, Sanya, Shenzhen, elsewhere in Shanghai, Xi’an and Chengdu all returning to support this worthwhile initiative.
Walk for Love continues to grow in size and numbers – over the last five years, over 5,000 Community Ambassadors from 16 Swire Properties entities in the Chinese Mainland have walked more than 1.7 million steps, covering over 1.1 million km and providing support to over 2,580 primary school students.
“Mr Fix-it”
“Mr Fix-it”
Launched in 2018, our popular “Mr Fix-it in Guangzhou” community support programme helps communities in the city transform idle spaces into community hubs for leisure, social services, and public engagement activities.
Led by our CAs and volunteers from our various partners, we use our personal skills and knowledge of design, decoration and renovation work to refresh these spaces.
In 2025, Mr Fix-it helped a community in Baiyun District upgrade an ageing social service centre, creating a more functional, user-friendly, and lively space that caters to the diverse needs of local residents. A local home furniture design and manufacturing firm partnered with us to provide tailored cabinets for the space.
Since its inception, the programme has built a community reading corner, a school reading room, a multi-function centre, a street “pocket park” and other spaces, benefiting hundreds of thousands of people around the city.
Supporting Children in our Communities
Supporting Children in our Communities
Spartan Kids Race – In May, 25 Community Ambassadors assisted at the Spartan Kids Race in Beijing – a 3 to 5 km obstacle course – coming together to help 49 families, including 20 children with disabilities. Our CAs provided coordination, motivation and support, helping the kids build confidence through shared challenges and experiences.
Little Architects – In July, Swire Properties’ Shenzhen Office held a “Little Architects” Community Ambassador event, the first time we brought families from Shenzhen, Hong Kong, and Guangzhou together for a shared activity. The families thought about the sustainability of commercial spaces from a child’s perspective, developing new and creative designs with a people-centric and ecological focus, and helping spark the next generation’s interest in green buildings.
Taikoo Li Chengdu Charity Concert – Our Taikoo Li Chengdu CAs teamed up with a support centre for young people with disabilities and the Jinjiang District Cultural Centre to host a charity concert. 24 CAs and their families along with the Star Fusion Choir, individuals and families with disabilities, and artists gathered for an evening of inclusion and beautiful music.
Healthy Breakfast Express – On Father’s Day in June, CAs from INDIGO and EAST Beijing joined people around the neighbourhood for this community wellness event. Ten local families participated, learning about nutrition and taking part in interactive sessions led by a chef from EAST, preparing healthy smoothies, sandwiches and granola, and discussing balanced meal planning.

Meeting Hero Sniffer Dogs – 82 Community Ambassadors visited the CRO Emergency Search and Rescue Dog Base to learn about the life-saving work of these heroic canine first responders. They also learned various skills for real-world emergencies, including how to perform the Heimlich manoeuvre and transform ordinary bedsheets into makeshift stretchers. This inspiring visit strengthened our CAs’ commitment to professionalism, dedication and respect for life.
Running for Mental Wellness – In late March, a large running event in support of various mental health charities was held at Tuofangying Park and the Ba River, adjacent to INDIGO. The event attracted over 1,000 running enthusiasts and was supported by 20 Community Ambassadors who became “wellness ambassadors” for the event.
Taikoo Li Qiantan “Spring Trio” – Our CAs held a three-part community programme in April and May to advance environmental stewardship, healthy living and animal welfare. During Earth Week, we held a “Plant for a Greener Future” tree-planting event; for the Shanghai Half Marathon we operated a hydration and cheering point at the 17 km mark to support runners; and during the May Day holiday, we held a pet adoption event encouraging people to “adopt, don’t shop.”
Conversation with Ancient Buildings – 54 CAs learned about the rich history and culture of Beihai Park in Beijing at this annual event. Following an expert guide, they learned the stories of the construction and restoration of the park’s buildings, giving them an understanding of the park’s evolution. The programme reflects Swire Properties’ commitment to balancing urban growth with the preservation of history.

Shenzhen Eco-hike
Shenzhen Eco-hike
In May, our Shenzhen CA team organised a hike along the city’s scenic Kunpeng Trail. The event brought together CAs from Shenzhen and Guangzhou, with 25 Guangzhou CAs travelling to Shenzhen, joining other CAs, representatives from government agencies and enthusiastic volunteers. The hike helped build a dialogue platform to jointly plan the future of cities in the area.
Saving the Crested Ibis
Saving the Crested Ibis
The Crested Ibis is a national first-class protected bird in the Chinese Mainland. Once driven to the brink of extinction by environmental pressures and human activity, by 1981, only seven wild Crested Ibises were found in Yang County, Shaanxi. Following four decades of dedicated conservation, the population has now rebounded to over 7,000 in the Chinese Mainland, but it is important to remain vigilant and continue efforts to ensure the future of the species.
This year, our Taikoo Li Xi’an Community Ambassadors got together to support Crested Ibis conservation. In May, 35 CAs went to Yuwan Village in Ningshan County. Here, they learned about ibis protection and rural revitalisation efforts before planting rice seedlings to help restore a critical wetland ecosystem for ibises and other species. The initiative presented a replicable model for corporate engagement in community development and ecological restoration, integrating Crested Ibis conservation with rural revitalisation through dedicated volunteer work.
Exploring Local Ecosystems in Beijing
Exploring Local Ecosystems in Beijing
In June, CAs from INDIGO hosted a riverside exploration along the Ba River, engaging 10 local families. Guided by the planner of the Ba River revitalisation project and several park managers, together they explored the vibrant local ecosystem, learned about the evolution of the city’s water systems and shared ideas on sustainable urban living.
