Sustainability We All Count: 2025 Edition
The 2024 edition of our successful “Sustainability We All Count” communication campaign was themed “Make Way For Nature”, focusing on biodiversity across our properties. This initiative underscored our commitment to environmental stewardship and aimed to raise awareness about the importance of preserving diverse ecosystems. The campaign used the newly-completed Taikoo Square at Taikoo Place in Quarry Bay as a “living classroom”, engaging the community and fostering a deeper understanding of the critical role biodiversity plays in maintaining ecological balance and supporting sustainable development. The campaign was brought to life through various promotional and engagement activities and educational programmes.
In 2025, we continued the “Make Way For Nature” theme, evolving it to specifically highlight the significant role that nature plays in restoring people’s wellbeing.
At Pacific Place and Taikoo Place, we introduced immersive art installations crafted from recyclable paper and reclaimed wood, creating tranquil “islands” within these busy malls. These spaces showcased local species such as the Red-whiskered bulbul, Black-collared starling, and Red-base Jezebel butterfly, complemented by soothing nature sounds like birdsong, rustling leaves and flowing water. Meditation corners offered audio-guided sessions, encouraging visitors to pause and reconnect with nature.
The public campaign included nature-themed murals and posters, refreshed content on our Biodiversity Digital Hub and creative initiatives like “Music from the Plants” – an installation that blended art and sustainability to inspire fresh perspectives on living systems and their impact on wellbeing.
Internally, a key highlight was the “Nature Inspired Offline Club”, launched in collaboration with People+, our staff wellbeing programme. This series of lunch-hour and after-work gatherings encouraged colleagues to unplug and focus on human connection through nature-inspired activities such as floral banquet workshops using upcycled materials from installations and tie-dyeing using natural plant ingredients.
Complementary elements included office murals, banners, and stickers to reinforce the campaign’s messages across our offices. Together, these initiatives strengthened our colleagues’ awareness of biodiversity and inspired creativity through everyday sustainable practices.

In April, Swire Properties held the first of several important meetings to chart the future of sustainability at the Company up to and beyond 2030. This first session focused on sustainability leadership, and was attended by over 90 of our SD Champions, including ESGSC members, SD working group members and representatives from all relevant business units.
Our Chief Executive Tim Blackburn opened the session by unveiling the Company’s refreshed sustainability vision. Representatives from GlobeScan, a global insight and strategy consultancy, then offered intelligence on market benchmarking, global ESG megatrends and emerging sustainability focus areas – key insights that will enable Swire Properties to navigate the evolving local, regional, and global sustainability landscape. This information and the ensuing discussions on best practices helped set the stage for the development of our focus areas, new quantitative and qualitative sustainability KPIs for 2030 and 2035, and the new action plan that was developed later in the year.
This new vision and strategy will allow Swire Properties to maintain our position as a major player on the global sustainability stage, creating vibrant, sustainable and resilient communities where people can thrive. For details, please refer to the SD 2050 Strategy section of this report.

Staff engagement is vital to maintaining our sustainability momentum. To ensure our colleagues have access to the latest information, we facilitated several sustainability-related workshops in 2025.

The Soft Side of Water Conservation
Water conservation continues to be a growing priority for Swire Properties. Building on our successes in installing smart water meters throughout our premises and launching a tenant portal through which tenants can track and manage their water consumption, this year we launched a series of water saving workshops, designed to inspire behavioural change in our internal colleagues and our GPP tenants.
We conducted five two-hour internal workshops and one workshop for GPP tenants at the ReThink HK Conference, in which we highlighted water’s crucial role in sustaining the Earth; explored its deep connections with climate, ecosystems and daily life; and learned practical ways to rethink water use and integrate it into sustainability strategies. Activities included an interactive quiz on water facts and a card game exploring the water-climate nexus. Each session concluded with a group discussion to translate insights into actionable steps to promote conservation.
