Assisting People with Sight Limitations
Assisting People with Sight Limitations
Our Beijing Community Ambassadors supported individuals with visual impairments on several occasions in 2025. They first participated in a “blindfold challenge”, wearing blindfolds in everyday situations to understand the world as experienced by visually impaired people. They then partnered in supporting outdoor guided bird-listening events, where visually impaired people listen to birdsong and then have the birds’ appearance and the general environment described to them.
The Community Ambassadors also helped those with vision loss learn musical instruments and then perform at a concert called “Beat the Silence”. Forty-five ambassadors joined the initiative, assisting 11 participants in four two-hour sessions before the concert, and then performed alongside them at the beautiful and joyful event.
Exploring Nature with the Community
Exploring Nature with the Community
In June, Community Ambassadors from INDIGO hosted a riverside exploration along the Ba River, engaging 10 local families. Guided by the planner of the Ba River revitalisation project and several park managers, together they explored the vibrant local ecosystem, learned about the evolution of the city’s water systems and shared ideas on sustainable urban living.
Charity Music Concert at Taikoo Li Chengdu
Charity Music Concert at Taikoo Li Chengdu
In August 2025, Taikoo Li Chengdu teamed up with a local enterprise supporting disability inclusion and the Jinjiang District Cultural Center to host the “Starry Echoes, Compassionate Resonance” charity music salon concert, harnessing the universal language of music to dissolve social barriers and create understanding between the community and individuals with intellectual disabilities.
Eleven special needs families participated and performed, supported by 24 Community Ambassadors. The concert’s performances included singing, piano and dance, while the ambassadors responded with songs of support – creating a dialogue of compassion and mutual respect that underlined the event’s core message – that every individual, regardless of ability, has a unique and valuable role to play in shaping society.
Taikoo Place Neighbourhood Tour
Taikoo Place Neighbourhood Tour
Our Community Ambassadors partnered with Love21 Foundation to organise a neighbourhood tour for people with Down syndrome and Autism Spectrum Disorder, showing them the sights and sustainable features of the Global Business District. The participants then painted the neighbourhood on canvases, with an exhibition held in December at the EAST Hong Kong link bridge, letting guests and visitors appreciate the talented artists and raising awareness about the talents of individuals with special needs.
Taikoo Li Sanlitun: Building a Thriving Community Together
Taikoo Li Sanlitun: Building a Thriving Community Together
When Swire Properties adopted a neglected pocket park next to Taikoo Li Sanlitun’s public zone in 2014, Hexin Garden came to life. Over the past 11 years, the Taikoo Li Sanlitun team has worked hard to maintain this gem, using a “professional care and community stewardship” model that ensures seasonal replanting, weekly watering, monthly pruning, and regular cleaning and pest control.
In May 2025, Taikoo Li Sanlitun teamed up with the Beisanli Community Council and local residents on a regular annual clean-up of Hexin Garden. Together, they pruned hedges, tidied lawns and cleared debris, keeping this vibrant urban oasis in tip-top shape for everyone.
Youth Development at Sichuan Community Centre
Youth Development at Sichuan Community Centre
Opened in 2017, the award-winning Sichuan Community Centre has become an important change agent for the community – addressing societal issues, helping to pool resources and connecting organisations with people in need. Continuously supported by Swire Properties, the Centre has set up long-term partnerships with NGOs, institutions, universities, and schools, organising over 330 events focused on youth and female empowerment and elderly care, positively impacting more than 20,000 people in rural areas over the past eight years.
The Centre hosted a series of fun and engaging summer activities for kids on numerous topics – art, financial literacy, English, science, character development, tutoring, and cultural activities – providing knowledge, skills and confidence to participants. The programmes included:
- An English-teaching Treasure Hunt – Volunteers taught children English, helping each child learn at their own pace through science projects, cooking workshops, maths games and eco-friendly crafts.
- Character-Building Summer Camp – A camp for 25 local children, focused on instilling love, compassion, forgiveness, and courage.
- “Your Money, Your Choice” – This financial literacy camp taught 35 children about currencies. They practised book-keeping, learned to distinguish needs from wants and created their own pocket-money management plans.
- Growing Through Art – A four-day series of structured art lessons taught 30 children about colour theory, composition, sketching and creative expression.
- Dreams in Colour – Student volunteers provided tutoring in Chinese, mathematics and English alongside workshops in traditional crafts such as tie-dye and paper folding.
- “Space Camp” – Volunteers from the Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics taught 39 children about space and its many intricate mysteries.
Taikoo Li Sanlitun Hosts International Delegation
Taikoo Li Sanlitun Hosts International Delegation
A 20-member delegation from the United Socialist Party of Venezuela, led by the country’s Vice-President, recently visited Taikoo Li Sanlitun. The delegation toured the outdoor café area and heard about our active efforts to support Chaoyang’s initiative to build a “City of Coffee” by establishing cafés and dessert shops. Together, they have created a relaxed international atmosphere that attracts large numbers of visitors and injects fresh vitality into the commercial landscape. The visitors then explored the wider development to gain insights into the shopping hub’s growth and its innovative consumer offerings.
The visit highlighted Taikoo Li Sanlitun’s role as a benchmark in driving regional commercial development and shaping an international shopping district, further reinforcing its reputation as a cosmopolitan commercial landmark for the city.
The Community Caring Fund 2025

The Swire Properties Community Caring Fund (“CCF”) provides sponsorship to less-well-known Hong Kong-based community organisations nominated by our employees. The objective is to help these organisations plan and implement community-based initiatives and outreach projects.
