In Hong Kong, we have made smart waste monitoring solutions available to all our office tenants. By the end of 2025, 109 tenants, or 58% of GPP tenants, across Taikoo Place, Pacific Place and One Citygate had their office waste monitored either through the Smart Waste Reduction Challenge or the Smart Mobile Scale Programme. Waste dashboards that include data trends and insights are also available to GPP tenants on the Tenant Portal. For further details, please refer to the Tenants section of this report.

This year, we introduced smart weighing devices to digitalise waste data collection at some of our Chinese Mainland properties. The goal is to improve data accuracy and enable us to collect and report data more efficiently. The devices allow for the collection of more granular data, enabling us to understand different tenants’ waste diversion performance statistics and tailor engagement strategies that support tenants’ waste separation and reduction efforts.

At Taikoo Hui Guangzhou, the mall and office towers introduced a suite of smart floor scales and smart balances to collect data on tenants’ generation of general waste, food waste and other recyclables. These devices will be linked with Taikoo Hui’s tenant portal, TaikooHub, in the future, allowing our property management team and tenants to conveniently view waste performance dashboards.

At INDIGO, the pilot of a digital waste-weighing mini-programme is scheduled to commence in January 2026, with full rollout contingent on its outcomes. This initiative aims to digitise the entire waste disposal process, replacing physical cards with QR codes that verify the identity of tenants, cleaning staff and waste room administrators.

All recorded waste data will be uploaded in real-time to the waste management module within the Tenant Portal, enabling continuous data tracking. The system is designed to annotate irregular occurrences and improve audit readiness. Monthly waste metrics will be automatically synchronised with GPP dashboards, removing reliance on manual data entry and significantly boosting accuracy and efficiency.
